Witch Please

Louisiana is so mysterious and wonderful from ghosts and voodoo to the haunted French Quarter, from monsters in the swamp to pirates. We have a few stories for you tonight in the spirit of Halloween. So sit back and get uncomfortable.

Fun fact: The name for the French 75 comes from the 75-millimeter howitzer, or field gun, used by soldiers in World War I.

• Ice
• 1 1/2 ounces cognac
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1/4 teaspoon simple syrup
• 2 3/4 ounces Champagne, chilled
• Lemon twist
• Place the cognac, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice and shake just long enough to chill.
• Pour into a chilled Champagne glass, top with the Champagne, and add the lemon twist
